Further to my post on Monday 16th March I have now begun lessons via a combination of FaceTime for people with Apple devices and WhatsApp for those with Android devices. So far this is working well. I have contacted all students by text message or email so if you haven't already replied and would like to continue lessons online, do get in touch - firstname.lastname@example.org.
The ABRSM exam board have cancelled all their exams so all students with exams they have been cancelled for now and will be rescheduled for a later date - I will update you as soon as I hear anything from ABRSM.
To summarise there are NO FACE TO FACE LESSONS at the studio for the foreseeable future and ALL EXAMS POSTPONED. If you have any specific questions or want to continue your lessons with me online, contact me at email@example.com
It was my plan to continue lessons as normal for as long as possible during the Coronavirus outbreak before possibly making the switch to conducting lessons via Skype or FaceTime as a temporary measure.
Following the announcement by the PM this evening, I think it’s sensible that I begin making that transition now. Ideally I would make the switch seamlessly, keeping lesson days and times the same. I realise it might not be that easy for some students who may not be near their piano at their allotted lesson time etc so am willing to make allowances where I can either by changing the day or time of the lesson if necessary and possible.
As of tonight 16th March 2020, I will begin contacting individual students to discuss this and any adjustments necessary to make it as convenient as possible.
